A Thought For The Week: Filled with the Holy Spirit? "And they were all filled with the Holy
Spirit." Acts 2:4 Rich were the blessings of this day if all of us
were filled with the Holy Spirit. The consequences of this sacred filling of
the soul it would be impossible to overestimate. Life, comfort, light,
purity, power, peace; and many other precious blessings are inseparable from
the Spirit's blessed presence. As
sacred oil, He anoints the head of the believer, sets him
apart to the priesthood of saints, and gives him grace to execute his office
aright. As the
only truly purifying water He cleanses us from the power
of sin and sanctifies us unto holiness, working in us to will and to do of
the Lord's good pleasure. As the
light, He manifested to us at first our lost estate, and now He reveals the
Lord Jesus to us and in us, and guides us in the way of righteousness.
Enlightened by His pure celestial ray, we walk no more in darkness but in the
light of the Lord. As
fire, He both purges us from dross, and sets our consecrated nature on a
blaze. He is the sacrificial flame by which we are enabled to offer our whole
souls as a living sacrifice unto God. As
heavenly dew, He removes our barrenness and fertilizes our
lives. O that He would drop from above upon us at this early hour! Such
morning dew would be a sweet commencement for the day. As the
dove, with wings of peaceful love He broods over His Church and over the
souls of believers. As a
Comforter He dispels the cares and doubts which mar the
peace of His beloved. He descends upon the chosen and bears witness to their sonship by working in them a filial spirit by which they
cry Abba, Father. As the
wind, He brings the breath of life to men; blowing where He wills He
performs the quickening operations by which the spiritual creation is
animated and sustained. Would to God, that we might feel His presence this
day and every day. By: C.

A Thought From Our Pastor: Did God Create Sinful People? Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” The average person will tell you that God created
everyone, and God made us what we are in this life, however, this is so
untrue. Did God create sinners? Did God create homosexuals, bank robbers,
murders, or Etc.? No! He did not. God created two people Adam and Eve and He
created them upright that means He created them in holiness. Genesis 1:27 “So
God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male
and female created he them.” This does not mean they were created in a photo
image of God but rather they were created with some of Gods attributes and
one of those attributes was holiness. Holiness was lost in the sin of Adam
and can only be recaptured through Jesus. Since the creation of Adam
and Eve every person has been born not created. So, when a sinner such
as a homosexual says “God created me this way” they are very wrong, God does
not create sinners. Sinners are the result of God did not create sinners and therefore God did
not create homosexuals neither did He create a retarded child nor a
wheelchair bound person from birth all of these are simply the result of sin.
Let’s not confuse God’s creation with God’s predestination. God does on the
other hand create Christians, Ministers, church workers, and Etc. by creating
them I mean He causes them to exist. God saves sinners, calls Ministers, and
causes church workers to exist and without His creation they will not exist.
However, sinners He did not create, so next time someone tells you God
created me in this sinful way please understand they are wrong because if God
created one a sinner then He must approve of that sin and He does not approve
of any sin and does not cause sin. James
1:13 “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot
be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:”
If God does not tempt with sin then He does not create sin or sinful
people. |

A Thought From C. H. Spurgeon: Christ and His
Children Our LORD Jesus has not died in vain. His death was sacrificial:
He died as our substitute, because death was the penalty of our sins. Because
His substitution was accepted of God, He has saved those for whom He made His
soul a sacrifice. By death He became like the corn of wheat which bringeth forth much fruit. There must be a succession of
children unto Jesus; He is "the Father of the everlasting age." He
shall say, "Behold, I and the children whom Thou hast given me." |
